When to plant outside

When can I plant outside?🌿🌞

This is a question that everyone struggles with - from beginner gardeners to seasoned gardeners. Most gardeners will say the May long weekend is the right time, but what if spring is earlier or later. Here is a general guideline to aid you in making your decisions.

- When day temperatures are 10C consistently - plant cold season crops.
- When night temperatures are 10C consistently - plant warm season crops.

Common cool-season vegetables: asparagus, beets, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, chives, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, Swiss chard, kale, leek, lettuce, onion, parsnips, peas, radishes, spinach, and turnips.

Common warm-season vegetables: beans, corn, cucumbers, eggplant, melons, peppers, zucchini and summer squash, pumpkin and winter squash, sweet potato, tomato, watermelon.
