The story behind our name

This is our 4th season! 
I would like to take a moment to share the story behind our name - Greenbush Greenhouses and Fam.

Greenbush comes from a beautiful little lake in the Monashee Mountains, not far from where we live. Dave and I did a day trip up there in 2017. We took the canoe and did some fishing. No luck, but we did enjoy the beautiful quiet little lake and the adventure of getting there! What a perfect spot.

That fall we brainstormed names for the business and Greenbush kept speaking to me. It fits with our vision of being sustainable and true to our roots.

We are a small business that loves growing plants and sharing the joy with our customers – it’s that simple. Each flower, herb, and veggie gives us the means to share our belief that plants should be grown sustainably and in harmony with the Earth, that plants should nourish the mind as well as the body, and that communities can flourish with support. And to think, that’s all wrapped up in every plant that we grow!

Also, thank you 🙏 to my partner Dave 💕💕 who has helped so much with our business. He looks after all the structural and mechanical aspects. This year he got the monitoring system up and running and now I don’t have to check on the greenhouse and plants every 3 hours at night! I just open my tablet and I know the greenhouse temperature and the boiler temperature right away. It is wonderful.

Thank you to my sister, Theresa who helps correct my spelling and grammar on my documents! I am terrible at spelling! 😉

Thank you to my Mom, Jutta for helping me at the Vernon Farmer’s Market. She helps set up at 6:00 am and is there all day with me! 🙏💕
